家に今、インコがいます
友達が日本に出張にいっている間、一時的に
預かっているインコ。
何十年も昔に、日本でインコを飼った事はありますが、
ここアメリカではまったくペットを飼っていないので
とても新鮮！
毎日籠から出して、自由に飛び回らせています。
特にお気に入りは、バスルーム。
トリは鏡が大好き！自分の姿に向かって鳴いたり
ちょっかり出したりしていて、見ていておもしろいです

Mayan Ruins of Tulum

On our cruise last month, we also went to Mexico I always longed to go to Mexico... to see the Mayan ruins! So I did not miss this opportunity to go to one of them, Mayan Ruins of Tulum. It was a very hot day and there was very little shade, but I'm so glad we made it! Such a beautiful place, with tons of history... I love to go visit other Mayan ruins someday

模様替え

久しぶりにブログの模様替え。
もう１年半近く変えていなかったので。
Google Bloggerも進歩してきました。
前回までは他でテンプレートを探し、
自分でhtmlコードを変えたりしていたのですが、
Google Bloggerで新しくテンプレートデザイナーが登場
テンプレートの数が増え、バックグラウンド、レイアウト、テキスト
などなどの自由度が激増！

今回はテンプレートデザイナーを使ってみました↓

Grand Cayman Island

西カリブ海クルーズ旅行で行った、Grand Cayman Island.
キューバの南側に位置するこの島は、実はイギリス領。

そこで面白い物を目にしました。
なんと日本の中古車が町中を走っているのです。
「トヨタレンタリース新埼玉」と書かれた車↓


「自家用」と書かれているけど、ナンバープレートはGrand Cayman↓


新しくペイントくらいすれば良いのに、こんな日本語の
サインを残したまま走る車。。。
他にも「◯◯工務店」とか書いてあったりした車もありました

日本ではみんな車の買い替えが早いですから、こういう所で
再利用されているのは嬉しい事です！

Grand Caymanでは、"エイと一緒に泳ぐ&スノークリング"の
ツアーに申し込みました。その日はちょっと曇りがちの天気。
でもエイと一緒に泳いできました！噛み付かないです、彼らは。
とても温厚。メスは大きさが２メートル以上あり迫力あったのですが。。。

とても貴重な経験をしてきました

First cruise ever...

Last month, we took a trip to Grand Cayman Island & Mexico by cruise. It was our first time going to a cruise trip, so I had no idea what to expect...

Well, a cruise trip was very different from any vacation I ever took. I must say, even though I did tons of research before going, I believe a cruise trip is an easy vacation package because a cruise line provides everything for you! You don't need any hotel reservation; foods are included (all you can eat buffet style!); many activities are available throughout a day; you can book an excursion for a destination and there are tons to choose from...

I absolutely loved the serenity at dawn or late at night All by myself at the top deck; no one to bother me, it was only me and the ocean... that was very special. I did not care much for foods or their entertainment. It's really dangerous to have a buffet meal all the time Never ending eating...

I don't know if I ever go for a cruise trip in future, but I had an experience of my life!

Every night, the cabin crews make a towel animal after cleaning a room! Can you believe this elephant is made of only 1 big & 1 small towels? (I actually learned how to make this one!)

DIA

Just went to DIA (Detroit Institute of Art) this weekend There was a special exhibition going on right now, "Through African Eyes: The European in African Art", and this exhibition was free with museum admission on Fridays! It was very interesting and was very impressed!



We also had some time browsing the general museum area and I found the bones! I've been to DIA many times and this was my first time encountering this bizarre piece of art...
