Beginning of Winter?

It got really cold a several weeks ago, like in 60s or even in 50s, and I was so close to turn the heat on in my home but wanted to wait till October, at least. Since we will be using the heat till next April or so... Heating bill is not so cheap in Michigan
Now, it is mid-October and finally I started the boiler. I did not need to turn on the heat on Oct 1st because the weather had been really warm in past couple of weeks! But of course that did not last long and the weather is back to average, hence the heat is on finally

Though it is getting chillier, it is still fall in Michigan! Lots of apple cider and donuts!! This photo was taken a few weeks ago at one of our favorite cider mills
