This is solely my opinion & thought about this year's election. Yesterday, I read the news about the former Democratic presidential candidate, John Kerry, decided to endorse Obama, instead of endorsing his former running mate, John Edwards, in 2004. According to the news, "The Kerry-Edwards relationship has been frosty since 2004, with aides trading charges about who was responsible for decisions that may have led to the ticket's defeat."
This sounds a bit too personal to me. Kerry blamed Edwards for their loss in 2004; hence he ditched Edwards and went for Obama. The source said Kerry had a special affinity for Obama, but... And the worst of all, Kerry did not personally tell Edwards that he was backing up Obama. Edwards found out this news through the media, just like us. Isn't it the courtesy to make a personal call and tell it in person at least? This is just plain rude. Kerry might have made this decision for the future of this country, but they were running mates in 2004! This news made me angry even though Edwards is not my favorite candidate.
This endorsement may be good and also bad for Obama. Since his loss in NH primary, he needed the new campaign boost. On the other hand, Kerry's loss to Bush in 2004 was a major sore point in Democrats. There was a huge opportunity for Democrats to win in 2004 against "a politically vulnerable incumbent president", then he failed. Association with that may not be the best thing for Obama.
No matter what's the consequence, I am just angry at Kerry and I'm glad that he is not running for a president this year!!!
