I saw the DVD, "Stranger Than Fiction" yesterday. It was really good. This movie was nothing like other movies. Very unique and original. The script was excellent (I am no writer, but I thought the writings of "Karen Eiffel", the character in this movie, was quite sophisticated and elegant), Emma Thompson played her role quite well, and so were Will Ferrel and Dustin Hoffman. My poor vocabulary cannot describe it well, better than "they were great!".
Here is a very short synopsis:
Harold Crick was a typical (boring?) man whose life was very routine and controlled. One morning, he started hearing a woman's voice in his head, narrating his life! The voice was Karen Eiffel, the author who is working on her new novel, writing about Harold. She does not realize "Harold" is a real person. Harold does not understand why he is hearing all the narration; very confused because all the events are happening as she narrates... then one day, he hears this narration, "little did he know that events had been sent in motion that would lead to his imminent death". He freaked out to hear that he was going to die, so he started to look for this woman and what is really happening...
