The weather has been very weird this winter; there was lots of snow, then lots of rain recently.
Due to rain, the snow melt and my driveway was flooded by the water. Soon after, the temperature dropped to below freezing... everything froze and now there is a thick ice on my driveway
Truly, it looks like an ice skating link! Never happened before. Amazing. Yet, it's so slippery and dangerous.
The quickest way to remove the ice is to use the rock salt. But since it contains the chemical which is bad for the environment, also it causes the corrosion on the car, I looked for the alternative. There was an environmentally friendly deicer available, but I decided to go for the most natural way: using sand.
Sand will not melt the ice, though at least it will create traction. Besides it will help melting the ice faster (ice reflects the sunshine while sand will absorb its energy because of darker color)
