HAPPINESS IS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED

I saw the DVD "Into the Wild" and I got speechless after watching it. This is based on a true story, a story of a young man who abandoned his material-rich life and decided to live penniless in wild nature alone. He believed that's the only way he could get happiness. In a way, he got it. No fuss about a career, no worry about a house or security of life. Worked as needed and just LIVE in a moment. He was doing good until he came to Alaska. In the end, he got nothing to eat, hunting was unsuccessful, and he got poisoned by wild plants. As he was dying alone, he scribbled the following:

HAPPINESS IS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED

This was a moment of his realization. and mine too. I always believed happiness comes from within, or that's what I was taught from meditation teaching. They say the way to happiness is how we can connect with God (the source, the Universe etc). Meditation is a great tool to calm a self and certainly one of tools to attain "happiness". But when I saw his scribble, I knew he was telling the truth as well. This was a big wake-up call for me...
