So about a month ago, I got 2 tickets to hear the Holst's Planets. It was my first time using this program. And as they stated, it cost only $11 per ticket (plus a few bucks each for handling). What a great program!! We enjoyed the night very much
DSO was great, and I love "The Planets", especially the 4th movement, Jupiter. This particular piece makes me nostalgic... it was used at my high school graduation ceremony. As I was listening, I was remembering those days

以前にコメントした気がしますが、私がNYで見たオペラの一番安い席も、確か$17だったと思います。
惑星の「ジュピター」ですか。

ColdDewさん、アメリカのコンサート類は、日本のそれと比べるとほんとに手軽に行ける気がします。NYのオペラが＄１７？！それは安い！
37/11プログラムの＄１１というのはスペシャルプライスですが、それでも１番安い席は２５ドルくらいからあります；）
実は今週末もまた行く予定です。今度はベートーベンの『英雄』です！
高校時代は私にとってとても遠い昔です。部活にあけくれていた毎日でしたね〜。でも楽しかった！

NYのオペラ(MET)は、10年以上前の経験なので、今は違うのかも…。
ColdDewさん、こちらこそコメントありがとうございます。METでオペラを見たんですね！つい最近まで友達がそこで働いていました（でももう辞めてしまいましたが）。今はもうちょっと高いかもしれませんね。。。
Lothlorien, I was wondering what 37/11 meant, reading your other Orchestra related post, and was waiting to run into the post that talked about it...and here it is, what an exciting program!! $11! I wish Japan had such program as well. I do love listening to Classic music but I am really bad at remembering names of the songs and musicians. I don't know of The Planets nor the 4th movement, Jupiter, but I'm happy for you that they played a song that brings you back your high school graduation ceremony memories. Music is amazing in that way that it takes us right back to when we were listening to them, etc, ne.
Tamakichi, obviously 37 stands for 37 yrs old and 11 stands for $11 per ticket. Surely, it's a great program! You like to listen to a classical music as well? Oh, I wish I could take you to listen to the DSO someday! Don't worry about remembering the names ;)
